March 15th

All three Defender 90 300TDIs are here, and in the shop. Titles applied for and final work being done.

March 2nd

After a few changes by shipping company three Defender 90s are on their way. Just booked shipping on the other three and the 110.

February 20th

All the Rovers came out to say hi.

February 13th

Last day in the UK, and we found an amazing 1995 Defender 110 300TDI in Epsom Green. A great trip seven Land Rover Defenders soon to be for sale in NJ.

February 12th

Last few days in the UK. Found and purchased six Defender 90s. Could not find any acceptable 110s this trip. First three ship on the 25th and arrive Stateside on March 8th.

January 20th

Busy couple of days. Rpi00085 1993 Defender 110 has been purchased and now lives in Manhattan. RPI00090 1986 Defender 110 V8 is off to live on a ski resort in the Catskills NY.

December 2nd

Got all five titles from MVC in record time from Trenton for the two MGFs and three Real Minis. Cooper and British Open will be listed soon. Mini Magic is having a new carb fitted, old one was grubby and new one shines. The two MGFs and waiting a new hood for MGF One and I could not leave Two without black leather seat upgrade.

November 6th

So much has happened. The three Minis and two MGFs were delivered, we sold the red 90, orange 90 and red 110. Lots of inquiries into the V8 and grey 110. Busy busy. Currently delivering my son to school in a variety of vehicles, just to mess with their heads.

October 8th

The 1996 left hand drive Phoenix Orange (Jaffa) Defender 90 300TDI and the 1993 Firenze Red (Simply) Defender 90 200TDI arrived today. Titles will be submitted on Monday and final work will begin. The Two 1996 Rover MGFs and the 1990 Rover Mini Magic were loaded onto the Atlantic Sun to begin their crossing. A very good day.

October 1st

A busy shipping day. The two 90s landed in New York this morning, and should clear customs on Monday. The first two Minis have been loaded onto the Atlantic Star in Belgium. We are waiting to see if the Mini Magic and the two MGFS can join.

September 23rd

“Toothless” the black Defender 110 drove off with its new owner today.

September 21st

The two Land Rover Defender 90s set sail this morning on the vehicle carrier Morning Claire. They should arrive October 3rd. Shipping has been requested for two of our new Dutch Minis. Will update once we get sailing times. The two MGFs and other Mini will follow on after. We are trying to get a Mini here before the last Car and Crumpets meeting on October 17th, if we can.

September 17th

Finally gave in and opened an Instagram account. User name roundpegint

September 4th

Don`t want to do that again! EU recommended quarantining US citizens when they travel. While Netherlands was making its mind up I zipped in and out before the new ruling took force. Only three days in country, but….. We now have two 1996 MGFs and three classic (original) Minis. In the Minis is a 1991 Real Mini Cooper. The actual model, as verified by the VIN. It has had a full shell off restoration back to new. The other two are a 1990 Magic and a 1993 British Open. Pics will follow once they clear customs. You check every aspect but you never know.

August 30th

The two 110`s have arrived in New York. Couple of days to clear customs then off to the shop.

August 19th

The two 110`s are at the port and ship out on Saturday. They will arrive in NY on the 29th. After a two month long wait the new passport is here. Flight is booked to Amsterdam Schiphol and I take off on the 6th of September. All the Dutch and Belgian dealers have been contacted and four MGFs and twelve Minis lined up for inspection. We will probably get two MGFs and four or five Minis. Could be more depending on what meets our standards. Only the good stuff gets to join our Landies.

July 20th

We found a friend for the LHD, a red Defender 90 200TDI. They will ship as a pair in September, together with anything else that meets our standards. RPI00082 heads off to its new owner on Friday and the workshop has gone from capacity to only four vehicles left.

July 16th

Sold the amazing RPI00082 Defender 90 300TDI to a great guy in New York. Time to start looking for some more 90`s.

July 13th

The Red 110 300TDi is off to Denver today, and we have just bought a Phoenix Orange 1996 Defender 90 300TDI which is LEFT HAND DRIVE. Sorry for shouting, but they are really rare in the UK and you have to be careful they are not Santanas in mainland Europe. It has some finishing work to be done. It also had a $30,000 rebuild in 2005 by one of Britain’s best Land Rover up fitters.

June 30th

Finally found something I have been looking for for a while. A 1986 Defender 110 V8 3.5L petrol engine. Beautiful in blue and only 88,000 miles. It will come over with the 300TDI. Also realize passport has expired. Off to renew and postpone Europe trip.

June 28th

A busy week end. We sold RPI00077 to a great gentleman from Boston. We got amazing news this morning. The Netherlands have opened up their borders to US travelers and there is no quarantine requirement. So next month off to jolly Holland to find some Classic Minis and MGFs. Also found a 1994 Land Rover Defender 110 300TDI with only 90,000 miles and one owner from new. That will stay in the UK until we find a couple of 90`s to ship with it.

June 26th

The Blue 1990 Defender 90 drove off today to live with its new owner.

June 10th

A friend owns a marketing company Ambassador Studios and he wanted to test out some of his new equipment. So… Road Trip!

June 1st

Back in the US after 22 hours of travel. My brother is now placed inside a cairn looking out to the isle of Arran. My thanks to all the patience and support from our customers.

May 16th

The two red 110`s arrived in Newark today. However is was not a good weekend. On Saturday I lost my brother to a brain bleed. This means I will be flying to Scotland to help with the arrangements. Given the current Covid restrictions I will be doing this from a hotel room in isolation. My thanks to all the buyers who are working with me during this difficult time. I will be trying to keep up with any questions or communications.

April 9th

RPI00084 1994 Land Rover Defender 110 300 TDI drove off with its new owner today. She will be living just over the border in New York, and will be joining us at car shows.

March 18th

The three beauties have arrived!

1776A4C1-AA4B-437A-A0B0-4AA1A123C598.JPG

March 10th

Moved into our new workshop facility in South Hackensack. Tailor made to our needs with 140ft long storage, LED lighting, our own restroom, a wickle office, and a nine foot high rolling door.

March 1st

The two 110s and the 130 are currently on vehicle carrier Carmen. They should be here on the 12th.

February 19th

Busy day. The two 110s and the 130 are now booked to come over. They set off on March 1st and arrive in the US March 14th. Usual couple of days to clear customs then into the new shop. We have had a lot of inquiries into red Defenders, so after much searching we have found one. A 1994 Defender 110 300TDI (which has a tent on the roof rack). It is amazing and having finishing touches done in the UK. We will be shipping it in April, probably with a 90 or two.

February 16th

The three titles for the two 90`s and 110 arrived. Finishing work has been delayed due to snow, and the fact to old workshop was below freezing most days. New shop is almost ready, and as soon as we can move everything in last touches will be applied and vehicles will be priced and listed.

December 28th

Our three new Landies were delivered to our workshop. Final inspections and change over to US specs will begin tomorrow.

IMG-0719.jpg

December 22nd

RPI00079 1995 Land Rover Defender 110 300TDI was driven away by new owner and his son.

December 14th

The four titles finally arrived from Trenton. Just as well as three Landies are pre sold. Updated RPI00077 with its sale price. We fitted a Mantec wing away spare carrier to the rear door new pictures will have to be taken before we list it. The ROR vessel Carmen is pulling into Halifax port, and so is only days away from dropping off the three new vehicles.

December 11th

RPI00078 1993 Land Rover Defender 90 picked up by new NJ owner today.

December 7th

Just spoke with my UK shipping company as ROR vessel Integrity, original shipping vessel was sitting in a dock in Germany. They advised ship was switched to the Carmen, but vessel owners had not told anyone, and now will arrive earlier on the 16h. Kind of difficult to be upset with getting these beauties 7 days early. The Military went off to VA to join its great new owner.

December 2nd

Just spoke to MVC Trenton asking where my titles are? They sent them to the wrong address. I have to speak to a supervisor on Friday to get them resent, to the right address. Fitted the Mantec swing out carries to RPI00077, and replaced the rear door, to a carrier door, on RPI00078. RPI00078 door is currently at the paint shop, being painted gloss black. I will have to redo all the pictures and videos to show the vehicles in their new configuration. A family friend is a professional photographer, and popped round on Sunday to take our Holiday card pics. I don`t usually like pictures of me on the web, but I love this shot. Happy Holidays. Simon

November 11th

The two 90s and first 110 are booked for shipping. They leave the UK December 3rd and arrive in Newark December 19th. Cant wait for these to arrive, as I have added roof racks to all three.

November 20th

My contacts found an ultra rare 1995 Land Rover Defender 130, long wheel base. It is in amazing condition.

PHOTO-2020-11-19-15-17-14 (1).jpg

November 16th

Four latest titles issued by MVC Trenton in only six weeks. Many thanks to the team down there. One of my UK searchers has made an amazing find. A 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 200TDI. Its history is the best part. It was a UK Ambulance Service mountain rescue vehicle. It only has just over 70,000 miles, a front winch, external roll cage and many other goodies. We are having all the lights and sirens removed and some minor work prior to shipping. This one will ship with the other 110 in January. The two 90s and the 110 will be ready to ship later this month. We cant wait. I have been in touch with an ex RAF buddy of mine, who married a Dutch girl and stayed in the Netherlands. I was his best man, he is my daughters god father. Good to have connections. He will be looking for Classis Minis for me in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

October 15th

A beautiful Autumn day, so out in RPI00078 the 1993 Keswick Green Defender 90 200TDI. I upgraded my drone to a Holy Stone HS720, and after remebering all the things I forgot on the last two trips (battery, charge the battery, sd card, my shoes) time to test the “follow me” feature.

October 12th

With the UK enforcing 14 day quarantine on international travelers, it becomes a little difficult to fly in and personally inspect vehicles. So having lived and worked in the UK for almost forty years, I know a few people. I have had engineering colleagues and engineering friends looking and being my virtual eyes and hands on vehicle inspections. Remote control Facetime. After a lot of inspections and expenses for petrol and time, we have found four new Landies that meet our needs. Two 90s and two 110s. They will be shipping over in November and December to boost what is left of our US stock.

September 17th

We are lending one of our vehicles to a photo shoot later this month. A catwalk, more of a Landie Walk, was set up so the right vehicle could be chosen. The 1982 Series 3 will be the star. Photo shows three of the four new vehicles meeting their new friends. The Gamekeeper was packed into its enclosed carrier for the trip to its new home in Ohio.

IMG-7156.JPG

September 15th

A busy day. The Gamekeeper sold to and amazing gentleman, and his amazing daughter , in Ohio. It has gone to live on a farm! No its not dead they own a farm. This is what she was built for, and I am so happy it has returned to its roots and to an American Estate this time. The four new Landies cleared customs today, the day before they start charging me storage fees. My tow vendor is currently driving back with the 110 and a 90, hoping to get back to the port before it closes in two hours.

September 8th

Bohem docked at Newark port. All four Landies off loaded, and currently waiting for customs clearance.

September 4th

RPI00069 Sold to a fellow Brit from New York

August 31st

RPI00067 1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500 just sold to an amazing lady from here in New Jersey

August 28th

The Vehicle carrier Boheme has just left Southampton and should arrive in the US on September 7th.

August 25th

Title arrived for RPI00069 1993 Land Rover Defender 90 County 200TDI. Vehicle listed for sale. The crowd cheers!

August 21st

Listed the 1982 amazing Series three today, and have all four new Landies at the port ready for shipment on the 26th.

August 11th

Finally got the court order to show we own the Grey Wolf (RPI00069) bought in October 2019. A simple crossing out on the UK title. Docs resubmitted to Trenton, and we should have the title soon. More good news, the four Land Rover Defenders in the UK are now ready to ship. Details submitted to shipping company and our broker. Will update when they are afloat.

July 13th

We went on a photo shoot with my friend Jon for his article coming up in American Survival Magazine (https://www.asgmag.com/). While he was professionally taking his photos, I decided it was time to try my new drone. There were lots of crashes, banging into trees, Land Rovers, and anything vertical. This required some video editing, but produced these clips.

July 11th

I have a lot of funny Land Rover tshirts. My wife surprised me today with a personalized mask and the best tshirt I have ever seen.

IMG-6898.JPG

July 3rd

The new owners of RPI00068 1991 Land Rover 200TDI 90 collected her today. We had not named her, so they came up with their own name for English strength. “The Iron Lady”, Maggie T. Mrs Thatcher gave me two massive pay rises in the British Forces and sent me to war in the early 80`s. The good and the bad of her term considered, if anyone could be the personification the fortitude of a Land Rover…. she was the woman. That lady was not for turning, but this one IS for driving.

June 7th

Fantastic day. We took 3 of our Landies, Jim brought his yellow 90 and the Triumph Spitfire down the the Latest Cars and Crumptets meet up. Great turn out of 34 cars. Ralph presented model old cars to the kids. My son got a Sunbeam Tiger.

IMG-1192.JPG IMG-1193.JPG IMG-1203.JPG IMG_6738.jpg IMG-1203.jpg

June 4th

Finally got around to creating our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNMaawwXi2UcLVA-RHWL9_A Took the Grey Wolf out to a “green lane” here in Northern New Jersey. My buddy drove and I filmed. Part way down the trail a branch snaps back and tries to take my bottom lip off. True professional that I am, I kept filming. Will take some others up there and even bring the new drone to film some outside shot, as soon as I stop crashing it every five mins.

May 31st

Last day of British car week, and many miles were driven. Sunday June 7th will be the next https://www.njbcc.org/ meet up. We will be taking three of our Landies and the Spitfire down 287 south in convoy, joined by Jim in his yellow Defender 90. If you want to come and see the vehicles and meet us please feel free to come on down. Face masks and minimum distancing will make this a safe meeting. The location is in the car park of the Dunkin Donuts 246 Littleton Road, Morris Plains, NJ starting at 9am. Event is dependent on the weather. If it rains it will be off, sunshine and we will be there.

May 23rd 2020

May 23rd to May 31st is British Car Week. Round Peg International will be celebrating by driving each of our eight current US stock vehicles whenever we can. If you are in NJ and see one of our Landies, or our Spitfire please give us a beep and a wave. Same for seeing any British car driving on US roads. It will make us smile to have our beauties recognized.

May 17th 2020

First meeting of the year. Cars and Crumpets ( https://www.njbcc.org/ ) Ralph, Mike, Ray and all the crew. Double spacing cars and everyone wearing masks. You can still have a great chat from 6ft away. We took the 1986 Ex Military 90 down the forty miles to the meet. A fantastic drive cruising at 60mph with 30mpg. Glorious sunshine and amazing machines. Check out the web link and join us on the next one.

IMG_6653.JPG

April 6th 2020

Just received three more titles, the Gamekeeper, the Military and Farmer Giles. Gamekeeper is currently being stripped down to have suspension and brakes replaced. Farmer Giles is just getting started, and Military is done and will be listed tomorrow.

Quick note to Mr Mark P from Florida. Don`t bid on an item in Ebay if you are not going to buy it! He stopped the auction on the Spitfire with Buy it Now and did not pay. As today was 65 deg and sunny I took it out for a spin. That brought my smile back.

March 27th 2020

Just got back from a quick trip to UK, and currently self isolating. The Brits are amazing at handling a crisis. I was never less than six feet from anyone else, wore my latex gloves and lived on sausage rolls n scotch eggs (google them). Located and purchased four more Landies. See the inventory page for updates. MVC Trenton has closed down. Which means we will have to wait for the last couple of titles.

March 7th 2020

Sold the lovely Land Rover Defender 110 County (RPI00070) to a fantastic couple from New York.

February 7th 2020

Flags are waving! We have the first title. RPI00068 1991 Epson Green Defender 90 is ready to go. We will list for sale on Ebay and various sites on Monday February 10th. Which is National Drive your Triumph day. The Spitfire will take a spin.

January 29th 2020

Working with Trenton MVC on the titles. This is the most frustrating part, and why we do the processing.

January 15th 2020

Just spoke with MVC in Trenton and they are currently processing titles from November 1st 2019. The first four were sent on November 7th! Nearly there.

January 11th 2020

RPI00069, the grey 1993 Defender 90 County, is finished and pictures and price are now online.

January 3 2020

The 110 and two 90`s are ready. the inventory has been updated with all the vehicle details and pricing. The Pictures will be taken and posted after they have been detailed.

December 20th 2019

Four more Landies have cleared customs and are being delivered to our workshop today. The 110 and two 90`s are almost finished, pictures and pricing will be uploaded soon. We have one more month to wait for Trenton to provide the titles on the vehicles we submitted in October. The four new ones will be submitted next week.

November 25th 2019

The remaining four titles arrived and shipping is booked.

November 21st 2019

The Game Keeper title finally arrived. The vehicle shipment booking has been submitted.

November 15th 2019

All the “lost” titles arrived in UK and were flipped around. We used a different carrier this time. As soon as the titles arrive shipping will commence on the remaining five.

November 7th 2019

We currently have four Landies in the shop being checked and worked on. Titles have been applied for with Trenton, the two month clock has started ticking. The title for the Gamekeeper early Series 3 is on its way over, and will be the next to join the pack. The remaining four are currently on hold as USPS decided to return the titles to the UK. They told me my postman did not know the address. I replied “you mean John, my Scotch drinking buddy for the last ten years?” “Er” they replied. We now have to wait for them to go all the way back to England, and then send them out again with a different carrier.

October 2nd 2019

Back from the UK, jet lagged and exhausted. Country traversed, vehicles inspected, declined or purchased. In total we found eight Land Rovers, from the Gamekeeper early (906 VIN) Series 3 to a beautiful County 110. There are 90`s, Series III`s and an amazing Ex UK Armed Forces Defender, from a military aficionado, all being prepared for shipment.

September 21st 2019

On Thursday 19 September 2019 Round Peg International received our New Jersey used car dealer licence. Friday 20th of September Round Peg International was licenced, bonded, plated, insured, brokered and ready to ship.

First flight is booked for Monday 23rd of September for ten days of hotels, driving, flying, inspections to find the best and most fun vehicles for our initial inventory.

August 25th 2019

Still waiting on preapproval from MVC at Trenton, so time for a short break.

Currently on day two, of a five day trip around Iceland. After some negotiation with the good people of Hertz we were able to change from a VW people carrier to a Land Rover 110 Defender. Five people and a tonne of luggage driving over 1,000 miles around this amazing country.

August 10th 2019

After three months we finally had our MVC inspection on Friday 9th August 2019. We passed! Next stage is preliminary approval. Once we supply bonds, insurance and fees the licence to sell cars in New Jersey will be issued. Time ticks on.
